In Universe, they have to be bought for 99 , 11 per unit. As with other superweapons, they're available for a cheaper price at the Aftermarket.
Appearance[]
Missiles consist of a metal egg-shaped shell which contains the payload, a diode on the tip of it, and an engine on the back.
In Chicken Invaders (DX Version) and The Next Wave, they used to be brighter, and the shell had a more oblong shape. They also didn't have a diode back then.
When fired, they travel to the center of the screen, where they detonate and deal a different amount of damage depending on the game (50 [or 5,000 compared to other versions] in Chicken Invaders, 2,500 in The Next Wave and 10,000 from Revenge of the Yolk onward). In Chicken Invaders (DX Version) and The Next Wave, the Missiles affected all enemies, regardless whether they were onscreen or not (though some exceptions exist when enemies don't spawn all at once). In the later games, however, they only affect the enemies that have already appeared onscreen. Missiles can also be used to detonate enemies/obstacles that are normally invincible (Feathers, Bubbles). It's better to fire them closer to the center of the screen to detonate them faster.
Pros
Deals devastating damage.
Clears all enemies and projectiles on the screen.
Cons
Very limited ammo.
Takes longer to detonate the further you are from the center of the screen.
